Excursion to Quantum Victoria

Monday 30 March 2026

We’re excited to let families know that our students will be heading to Quantum Victoria in Melbourne for a fantastic day of hands-on science learning. This will be a joint excursion with Raywood Primary School and there will be no cost for families!

Travel Arrangements

We have booked a bus for the day.

  • 7:05am – Pick up in Marong (we are hoping families can arrange to drop students at the bus however if this is not possible please contact the school as soon as possible so that we can help you make alternate arrangements)
  • Approximately 5:00pm – Drop off in Marong

It will be an early start, but we’re looking forward to a wonderful and engaging day.

Junior Program: Exploring the Senses

Students will investigate how our five senses work and how they help us understand the world. Through interactive activities, they will explore:

  • Taste
  • Touch
  • Hearing
  • Sight
  • Smell

Students will use all five senses (including taste and smell) in safe, guided investigations to understand how our senses work together in everyday life.

Senior Program: Makey Makey

Students will explore measurement and basic electrical concepts through hands-on investigations. Activities will include:

  • Measuring mass and volume (including making playdough)
  • Exploring conductors and insulators
  • Using a Makey Makey kit to create simple circuits

This engaging workshop supports students’ understanding of scientific thinking, experimentation and problem solving.

This excursion links directly to our Science curriculum and provides students with rich, hands-on learning experiences that build curiosity and deepen understanding.

Further permission information will be sent home shortly. If you have any questions, please contact the school.

We’re looking forward to a fantastic day of learning!
