Writing  

In Year 1, students will continue to develop their writing skills across a range of text types, including texts to persuade and texts to entertain. When writing to entertain, students will continue to develop their knowledge of text sequencing and retelling. In persuasive texts, students will continue to give reasons to support their opinions and begin to use persuasive language. Students will also continue to develop their vocabulary and word choices to make their writing more engaging.

We will continue to work on handwriting in both our reading and writing lessons.
