Year 3 Museum Excursion

This term, Year 3 students explored the history of this land we call Australia, focusing on how our city of Melbourne has changed over time.

At the museum, we enjoyed seeing the First Nations exhibit, learning about the rich history the local Aboriginal people experienced.

The Story of Melbourne exhibit showed us many artifacts of how Melbourne has become the city we now get to live in.

We also experienced a 3D film about Australia in the IMAX cinema.

Early Years - Author Visit

Last Wednesday, our Early Years students were thrilled to experience a special author visit from award-winning picture book author Vikki Conley.

They learned about the writing process and where ideas come from. Vikki shared her wonderful book, Where the Lyrebird Lives, which won the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book of the Year Award in 2023.

Students prepared for the visit by making their own lyrebird puppets and collages. It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate books and storytelling for our students!
