Dear Parents and Carers and Families,

We welcome spring tomorrow! It is a reminder that our world is changing and that we need to stop and recognize the wonder and beauty that is all around us.

Last week the children have enjoyed some lunch breaks with sun warming them for the first time in months. It is certainly an appropriate time for a change from our winter to summer uniform! From next week (Week 9) until the end of term will be a changeover time where children can wear either summer or winter uniform. From the start of Term 4 all children need to be wearing their Summer Uniform.

Fathers and Special Friend’s Day

This Sunday, 6th September, we celebrate Fathers and Special Friend’s Day. It is a wonderful opportunity to recognise and thank the fathers, grandfathers, uncles, carers, mentors and special people who play such an important role in the lives of our children.

To mark the occasion, we will be celebrating at school on Friday, 4th September, with our annual Father's & Special Friends Breakfast from 8:30am to 9:00am. We warmly invite fathers and special friends to join us for a bacon and egg roll and a chance to spend some quality time with the children before the school day begins. A coffee van will also be available on site.

These occasions provide valuable opportunities to strengthen the connection between home and school while celebrating the important people who support and encourage our students each day.

We look forward to welcoming our fathers and special friends on Friday morning and wish all those celebrating a very happy Fathers and Special Friend’s Day.

Education Support Officers (ESOs) Appreciation Week

This week we celebrate Education Support Officers Appreciation Week and acknowledge the incredible contribution our ESOs make to our school every day.

Our ESOs support students, staff and families with care, patience and professionalism. Whether they're helping students in the classroom, providing encouragement, or assisting behind the scenes, their work has a positive impact across our entire school.

We are grateful for their dedication and the difference they make in the lives of our students. On behalf of our school community, thank you to all of our ESOs for everything you do.

Attendance Matters

Last week, I shared that improving student attendance is a key focus for us at St Peter's. I am pleased to report that we have already seen some positive movement this week, with our overall attendance increasing from 71.49% in Week 6 to 75.86% in Week 7, an improvement of 4.37%.

Several classes made significant gains, with one class improving by more than 15% and another increasing by almost 8%. These improvements show what is possible when we work together to make attendance a priority.

While it is encouraging to see attendance heading in the right direction, there is still work to do. Our current attendance rate remains below our goal of 90% or higher. Every day at school matters. Regular attendance helps students stay connected to their learning, build strong routines, and maintain important relationships with their classmates and teachers.

Thank you to the families who are supporting their children to attend school every day. Your efforts make a real difference. Let's continue working together to build on this positive momentum and give every student the best opportunity to learn, grow and succeed.

Family School Engagement Survey – Have Your Say

Thank you to the many families who have already completed the 2026 Family School Engagement Survey.

If you haven't yet had an opportunity to participate, I encourage you to do so before the survey closes on Monday 14th September.

Your feedback helps us understand what we are doing well and where we can continue to improve. Every response contributes to shaping the future direction of St Peter's and ensuring we continue to meet the needs of our students and families.

The survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete, and all responses are confidential.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and support the ongoing improvement of our school.

I hope you have a great week!

Kind regards,
