Wellbeing at TPS

Wellbeing Leaders
This week our Wellbeing Leaders spoke at Assembly to highlight the importance of checking in with ourselves and others. In the spirit of R U OK? Day, they reminded students that recognising their emotions and reaching out for help is a strength, not a weakness. They also shared the many ways our school supports students when they are not feeling okay.
- Students continue to build their wellbeing skills through weekly Personal Learning and Values Matrix Lessons, where they learn to understand their emotions, develop resilience and practise healthy coping strategies.
- Middle and Senior students complete a Wellbeing Survey twice a week to share how they are feeling in relation to our Wellbeing Continuum and to communicate any concerns around bullying.
- Every classroom includes Regulation Zones to help students identify their emotional state and choose strategies to regulate.
- Lunchtime opportunities such as Art Club and Structured Play encourage connection and teamwork across year levels. Clubs include Art Club, Colouring Club and Sports Clubs.
- Foodbank Fruit Bowls ensure students have access to healthy snacks, helping them stay focused and ready to learn.
Safe Spaces Incursion
The Safe Spaces program, developed by Firefly Wellbeing and delivered through Golden Plains Shire Council, provided our Grade 5 and 6 students with an engaging and interactive workshop focused on strengthening respectful relationships and building a safe school community.
Students participated in thoughtful discussions and hands‑on activities that supported them to build respectful relationships, develop empathy and inclusion skills, and identify and respond to bullying behaviours.
It was a highly engaging session, with students walking away more aware of strategies that are personal and meaningful to them, helping them recognise when they or others may need support and how to respond confidently.
Thank you to the Golden Plains Shire for facilitating this incursion for our TPS Students.
School Holiday Activities
Golden Plains Shire Council is offering a Holiday Activity Program for ages 12+, featuring paintball, bowling and learn‑to‑skate sessions for senior students.
Younger students can enjoy activities from the Central Geelong Spring School Holiday Fun Guide, including craft workshops, LEGO building, kids’ theatre, science experiences and outdoor adventures.
