'A Welcoming Community Leading the Future of Learning with Faith and Love'

Principal's Updates

Welcome to what promises to be a vibrant and action-packed week ahead. Today started with a Kaboom as the students participated in dancing, running and a variety of sports activities. This week also brings a wonderful opportunity for connection, as we look forward to welcoming you for our Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences this Thursday. These conversations are incredibly valuable for celebrating your child’s achievements and setting exciting goals for the future. Please ensure you have booked your session time.

Our classrooms are also energised with the deep dive into History this term. At St John’s, our vision for engagement means creating a learning environment where every child feels safe, valued and truly excited to learn. We believe engagement goes far beyond just sitting quietly, it is about full participation, sparking active curiosity and a lifelong love for discovery. In our classrooms, this vision comes to life through hands-on learning, collaborative group projects and interactive technology that turns lessons into real-world experiences. We ensure that every student is deeply motivated to participate, ask questions and take pride in their personal growth. I look forward to connecting with you on Thursday, to share your child's schoolwork, successes and goals.

Kaboom Sports Day - Monday 27 July

Today we celebrated the Commonwealth Games with a whole school Kaboom Sports Event. It was a high-energy, fast-paced sports incursion which focused on full participation and fostered teamwork through non-stop physical activities. All students and staff enjoyed the music, dancing and the variety of tabloid sports on offer. Each student was in a team representing a Commonwealth country. There was an Opening Ceremony and Gold medals were awarded to each country for their enthusiasm, engagement and team spirit. It was a very memorable day for us all.

To purchase your entry and $1000 raffle prize tickets, please book via the CDFpay app

Morning Arrival Times

A gentle reminder to all families our school doors open at 8:30 am, and all students must be on-site by 8:45 am for an 8:50 am start. Establishing a prompt morning routine is vital, as arriving on time ensures students participate in our class morning prayer and meditation—a key focus for starting the day that is easily disrupted by late arrivals. If your child arrives after 8:50 am, please ensure they go directly to reception to sign in, where they will wait and meditate until class prayer concludes; parents and students are kindly reminded not to walk to classrooms while morning prayer is in progress.
