Jersey Update
Students who receive a jersey for any upcoming trial, gala day or interschool sport will be recorded as proof of this borrowing method. This will allow our school to continue to use these jerseys and have enough for all students to wear and represent our school proudly at the many sporting events we provide to all students. Once jerseys are washed and returned to the school office, our staff will mark that the jersey have been returned. Any jerseys not returned will incur replacement fee.
Please check the wardrobes at home and return any jerseys of any style (singlet, soccer jersey or footy jersey) which belongs to the school. Thank you for the cooperation with this matter.
Interschool Sport
Our Year 6 students started off our interschool sport for term 3 in the sport of AFL. This was a great experience for our students and we thank NSW AFL for hosting and engaging each and every student. Students have been selected from both the Year 5 and Year 6 AFL gala day to represent our boys and girls team at the Paul Kelly Cup on Monday 17th August. If this involves your child, you will be notified through COMPASS.
Our Year 3 students were next to follow with them enjoying their AFL Interschool experience. We are so grateful for SCS providing this initiative for all our students. Take a look at some of the action from the day!
Please ensure you provide permission for your child to attend their next interschool sporting opportunity event. There have been many rescheduled dates due to the wet weather. Below is an outline of all interschool sport across all grades for 2026.
Trials have now been completed for all Interschool Stage 3 teams. Below was the document with all information on the trial structure for 2026.
Representative Trials
On Tue 4th August we have 35 students representing our school at the Conference 3 Athletics Trials. Details for this event have been shared on COMPASS along with a paper version clarifying which events your child has been entered for. Please ensure you have provided permission for your child to attend this event.
The current Representative Pathway Sports is coming to end with only Athletics still currently in the pathways. Therefore preparations are being made for the upcoming representative sport calendar season which will run from Term 4 2026 to Term 3 2027. Please see the attached note which contains all details for our current Year 4 and 5 students who represent at a high level outside of school in their sport. Please note that expressions of interest for representative sport will close on Friday 11th September.
Sutherland Basketball Gala Day
The girls will commence their turn at the basketball gala day with Year 5 and 6 on Monday 3rd August. We hope our nominated stage 3 students have a great time at this event.
Optional Sutherland Hockey Gala Day Years 6 only
Our school has been invited to the Sutherland Hockey Club Gala Day on Tuesday 22nd September at Tradies Hockey Park (73 Sylvania Rd, Miranda) from approximately 8:30am-3:00pm. This year it will only be offered to Year 6 students due to swimming intensives for Years 2-5. Parents are required to transport their child to and from the grounds for this particular gala day.
Our school can only send limited teams based on equipment availability. At present this is an expression of interest and we will plan for this gala day based on numbers.
This gala day has been set up for beginner or experienced players. Therefore, if your child plays hockey or shows interest in the sport, this will be a great opportunity for them to be involved. Mouthguards and shin pads are compulsory in which all players will need to purchase. We have also been kindly supplied with a limited number of sticks and goalkeeping equipment.
Senior Mixed Team (Year 5 and 6)
If your child is interested in attending this gala day, please fill in the following Expression of Interest. This form will close on Friday 28th August. After registrations close, families will be notified of the outcome for this gala day.
