Week 1 - Wednesday, 22nd to Wednesday 29th July Exhibition at Westfield Hurstville (Level 1, near Woolworths)
Week 2 - Monday, 27th July Alumni Tour with the students
We will invite HPS alumnus to come in for school tours, share experience through talks and visits and respond to student question cards/letters.
Week 3 - Monday, 3rd August Past and Present Dress-up Mufti Day
Students are invited to come to school in outfits and fashion through decades. No gold coin donation required.
As part of our celebrations marking 150 years of Hurstville Public School, we are excited to invite all students to participate in our Past and Present Mufti Day on:
Students are encouraged to come dressed in costumes that reflect the theme of "Past and Present". Some ideas include:
- Students, teachers or community workers from Hurstville's past
- Historical occupations or professions
- Clothing styles from previous decades
- Any outfit that creatively represents the theme of Past and Present

This special day provides students with an opportunity to celebrate the rich history of our school and community while reflecting on how life has changed over the past 150 years.
Please note that no gold coin donation is required for this mufti day.

History & Archives: A Journey Through Time
As part of our 150th anniversary celebrations, we are proud to present a curated look into the HPS vaults. Our History and Archive displays from Monday 03 to Saturday 08 August 2026 will offer a rare glimpse into the school’s long standing legacy through three distinct collections:
- Original documents and photographs on display dating back more then 100 years to the first decades of the 20th century.
- Original student work and reports dating from the middle of the last century.
Displays of teaching resources used throughout the later half of the 20th century.
Week 3 - Wednesday, 5 August
Open Day.
- Performances, open classrooms.
Week 3 - Saturday, 8 August
Community Fair.
- History and Archives Displays, rides, food, music, entertainment.
Term 4 2026
Week 3 - Thursday, 29 October Alumni High Tea
Alumni will be invited to celebrate the school at a high tea at the school.
Week 6 - Saturday, 21 November
Alumni Canape evening (hosted by the P&C)
- Alumni will be invited to celebrate the school at a canape event at Georges River Sailing Club. Please follow Hurstville P&C Instagram for more information.
