As we approach a truly momentous occasion in our school’s history, I would like to warmly remind all families and members of our wider school community that the main events celebrating our 150th anniversary—marking an incredible journey from 1876 to 2026—are drawing near. These special celebrations are scheduled to take place during Education Week 2026, from Monday, 3rd August, through to Friday, 7th August. Throughout this week, we have planned a rich program of engaging and inspiring activities designed to pay tribute to our school’s proud heritage, remarkable achievements, and the vibrant community spirit that continues to thrive within our halls.

The pinnacle of our anniversary celebrations will be the magnificent 150th anniversary community fair, which will be held on Saturday, 8th August, from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm, right here on our school grounds. This event promises to be a spectacular day filled with a wide array of fun-filled activities, captivating entertainment, and meaningful opportunities for connection and celebration. It will bring together current students, dedicated staff, cherished families, esteemed past students, and members of our local community, all united in our shared passion for the school and its extraordinary legacy.

I strongly encourage everyone to mark this significant date in your calendars and make every effort to join us. The 150th anniversary community fair is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments and enduring traditions of our school while highlighting our unwavering commitment to providing a high-quality education for generations to come. Leave your mark on HPS - Purchase a 150 Year Legacy Paver

As part of Hurstville Public School’s 150-year celebrations, our community and former Hurstville students and families are invited to purchase a Legacy Paver and become a lasting part of our school’s history.

For $50, you can purchase a personalised paver that will be installed as part of our revitalised Legacy Entry Path between the Forest Road entrance and the school front office. This is a special opportunity to leave your mark on the school for years to come.

There are 1000 pavers available, with each paver allowing up to 3 lines of text, with 17 characters per line.
