From the Principal
Dear families,
Term 2 concludes on tomorrow at 3:10pm. It has been another wonderful term with so much learning and so much fun had. I hope all of our families have the chance to rest up over the next few weeks. We will see everyone back at school on Monday, 13th of July.
Just a note I have included some dates for Terms 3 and 4 in the Important Dates and Upcoming Events tab. Please be mindful that so far out from events sometimes things can change.
Updating of School Policies and Procedures:
Just as a range of our school Child Safety Policies were updated late last year, I will be working on a number of Policies and Procedures over the school holidays. These policies will be up on the school website at the start of Term 3. Our school wide and system (MACS) policies are reviewed on a regular basis and improvements and changes are made. These updated policies are then shared with our community via the school website.
Swimming Program:
Just a note for families that the swimming program at Carlile Swim in Ferntree Gully will commence in Week 2 of Term 3 (20th of July). There will be some information coming out over the next few days on NForma. Please ensure that you complete the permission form over the break.
"We Are One" Podcast:
Over the next few days families will recieive a taster epidsode of our new school podcast called "We Are One" podcast. It is co-hosted by Mr Mc and our school captains Harper, James and Lydia. In Term 3, we will release new episodes every two weeks. We hope to include different students, different teachers and other community members throughout the process. It is sure to be a whole heap of fun. I would like to pass on my thanks to the Parents and Friends Committee who have agreed to purchase the equiptment needed to get the podcast up and running.
Green and Gold Day:
Tomorrow we are holding a Green and Gold day in support of our Socceroos who are currently representing our nation at the FIFA World Cup. Students are invited to wear Green and Gold and will have the chance to watch the Socceroos group game VS Paraguay at 12:00pm.
Parent / Teacher Interviews:
On Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th of July we will be holding our Semester Two, Parent Teacher Interviews. This is your chance to discuss your child's progress with their classroom teacher. I ask that families who engage with the Termly Program Support Group Meetings (PSG's) do not book in for a Parent Teacher Interview. These families already have termly meetings to discuss goals related to Personalised Learning Plans.
