Principal's Report

As we reach the end of Term 2 and the halfway point of the school year, it is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the growth, achievements and progress of our students.

Semester reports provide families with a snapshot of how students are progressing in their learning and development. It is important to remember that learning is a journey and every student progresses at their own pace. The reports celebrate successes, identify areas for continued growth and help guide learning goals for the remainder of the year.

I am incredibly proud of the effort, resilience and determination our students have demonstrated throughout the first semester. Whether students have achieved academic goals, developed new friendships, improved their confidence or embraced new challenges, there is much to celebrate. We encourage families to take the time to discuss reports with their children and acknowledge the progress they have made.

OSHC Update

We have been excited to see the strong uptake of our holiday program, with many wonderful activities and experiences planned for students. There are still some places available, so if you are interested, please book as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

I would also like to congratulate Sonia on her appointment to her old but new role at IPS as Operational Manager of OSHC. This change will provide greater consistency across the program and help ensure our Education Support staff are not overwhelmed by balancing multiple responsibilities.

Most families will already know Sonia and the incredible work she does within our community. I encourage everyone to support her as she transitions into this role. Please note that all booking and payment enquiries will continue to be managed through the school office.

Toilet Upgrade

I am pleased to share that the new staff toilet facilities have now been completed and are ready for use. This is an exciting development for our staff, who have been sharing limited facilities while our school community continues to grow.

The completion of these facilities is another positive step in improving our school environment and supporting the needs of both staff and students as our enrolments continue to increase.

Parents and Friends

A huge thank you to our Parents and Friends group for providing a delicious Spaghetti Bolognese lunch for students and staff. Events like these help build the strong sense of community that makes our school such a special place.

Terry Floyd Foundation Blue Day

This Friday, students are invited to dress in blue and bring a gold coin donation to support the Terry Floyd Foundation.

The Terry Floyd Foundation provides valuable support to children, families and communities through a range of initiatives aimed at improving wellbeing and access to essential resources. We are incredibly grateful for the support the Foundation provides to our school, including books for our students and assistance with our monthly food hamper program.

By participating in Blue Day, our school community can help support the wonderful work of the Foundation and give back to an organisation that continues to make a positive difference in the lives of many families.

We look forward to seeing a sea of blue on Friday!

Looking Ahead

As we look towards Semester 2, the calendar is already filling quickly. Term 3 will be particularly busy, with three sporting events scheduled throughout the term, along with many exciting learning opportunities and school activities.

I encourage families to regularly check the Parent Calendar and uEducateUs to stay informed about upcoming events, important dates and school updates.

School Holidays

As we head into the holiday break, I hope all families have the opportunity to relax, recharge and enjoy some quality time together. There have certainly been a number of illnesses circulating through the community recently, so I hope everyone manages to stay healthy and well over the break.

Thank you to our students, families and staff for another fantastic semester. Your ongoing support, commitment and partnership make our school the wonderful community it is.

I look forward to welcoming everyone back for an exciting and successful Term 3.
