Religious Education

This term, our Infants classes began learning about God’s Creation during Religion.

Last week, Kindergarten spent time on the oval exploring nature through their senses such as feeling the breeze, listening to the leaves rustling and watching the clouds roll by. They discussed how God created the sky and seas, as well as day and night, before using their learning to create landscape artworks featuring the earth and sky.

This week, Year 2 students drew pictures of their favourite animals before using plasticine to bring them to life, celebrating the wonderful variety of creatures in God’s world.

Year 5 Science - Food and Fibre

In Stage 3 our Science topic this term is Food and Fibre. On Monday, the students completed a hands-on experiment, where they tested and compared wool and cotton through four interactive stations. They measured elasticity, observed fibre textures under magnification, checked water absorbency, and tracked thermal insulation with an ice cube melt challenge. By making predictions and recording findings, students practiced forming hypotheses and conducting fair tests. Ultimately, they discovered how the natural properties of plant and animal fibres dictate their everyday uses. It was a practical and engaging way to connect science directly to materials in their daily lives.
