Welcome Back

I hope all students and families had a wonderful break. 2026 promises to be an exciting year and something we can all look forward to together. This year the Careers space will have lots of programs and events on offer, so I encourage students to participate with an open mind to explore all the possibilities available to them. Let’s continue to demonstrate adaptability, perseverance and resilience, important skills students will take into the world of work.

VCE Vocational Major (VM) – Structured Work Placements

Over the past couple of weeks, our Vocational Major students have begun their work placements. Congratulations to those who have successfully secured placements and completed the required OH&S paperwork—an essential requirement for the VCE VM certificate. Students undertaking their structured workplace learning are developing valuable employability skills and strengthening their employment profiles within our community.

A number of students have not yet secured a placement. Please be aware that structured workplace learning is a compulsory component of the VCE Vocational Major (VM) program and not meeting this requirement can hinder receiving their VCE certificate. If your child has not arranged a placement, we ask that you discuss this with them as soon as possible.

VCE Camp

In 2026, Year 11 students have the opportunity to attend the VCE Camp. As part of the 3-day experience, students will visit five universities, as well as attend the VCE Careers Expo, to explore potential pathways for their future career planning. The program is designed to help students investigate and better understand their options as they begin considering course selections for their final years of schooling.

During the visits, universities will deliver detailed presentations outlining available courses, key benefits and student support services. Students will also participate in campus tours and information sessions covering entry requirements. At the VCE Careers Expo, which features over 150 exhibitors, students will be able to gather resources, ask questions and research a wide range of study and career opportunities.

Evening activities have been planned to allow students to socialise with their peers. Students and staff will stay in accommodation in Melbourne throughout the program.

This camp promises to be a valuable and enjoyable experience and was a great success last year. Permission forms and further information have been sent home - there are still spots available.
