Work Experience opportunities
MEDICAL RESEARCH (15+)
Applications are now open for the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute (WEHI) work experience program. Successful students will spend a week at the Institute exploring biomedical science and medical research. Students will need to organise their own transport and accommodation and a bursary may be available from the Institute to assist with costs.
Program intake weeks will run between:
17 – 21 June 2024
16 – 20 September 2024.

AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE FORCE (ADF) WORK EXPERIENCE
The ADF offers work experience to Year 10 – 12 students. The following are examples of work experience placements available:
Canberra
6 May: Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) Showcase, Canberra
ASD Cyber Security and Robotics (opening soon).
Victoria
28 – 30 May: Introduction to the Navy: HMAS Cerberus.
22 May: Army Trades: Engineering, Electrical and Health, Bandiana (near Albury).
17 – 21 June: STEM to the Rescue, Melbourne
24 – 28 June: STEM Immersion Week, Port Melbourne.

LA TROBE WILDLIFE SANCTUARY
Nangak Tamboree Wildlife Sanctuary at La Trobe University offers engaging Work Experience placements for students currently in Year 9 and Year 10.
Successful applicants may assist in the following areas of the Sanctuary:
- land management
- plant production
- education
- biodiversity
- marketing, promotion & interpretation
- office & administration
- workshops & tours.
Note: students cannot undertake work experience with animals. There are 4 places left for the year.
Students will be responsible for organising their own transport and accommodation.
