2027 Enrolments
During the first weeks of term we have conducted several tours of the school which has resulted in new enrolments across the school. School tours can be arranged by contacting the general office, if you are aware of any children who are of school age next year, please encourage their families to seek enrolment asap. Schools are asked to report their 2027 enrolments by the end of July.
Parent Conferences
On Tuesday last week, we conducted our term parent-teacher-student conferences. The conferences that I participated in were respectful and built a greater connection between home and school as well as an opportunity to celebrate student achievement and set goals for personal growth.
If you were unable to attend a conference with your child’s teacher, please reach out to the classroom teacher.
School Soccer Representation
Last Friday I had the pleasure of spending some time at the inter school soccer competition in Moama.
Our school entered two teams in the mixed competition, both teams performed very well with a few wins, draws and losses. I was impressed with the spirit in which the students played on the day, the way they encouraged each other and the way that they handled themselves when things didn’t go their way on the field.
It is a privilege to represent the school at any level, thank you to the participating students for upholding the school values as they proudly represented Echuca Twin Rivers PS.
Mothers Day
Last week’s Mothers Day event was a big hit for mums and special persons, students and staff. The Mothers Day stall was a huge hit with an interesting range of gifts for mother. Thank you for Nicole Mills and her band of parent helpers for their work. Thank you to our catering team, led by Tahlia and Amy who did a great job in providing scones for the masses of hungry visitors and students.
Cooler Weather
As the days get cooler, students are encouraged to dress appropriately. Some students seem to have an aversion to wearing a jumper. Don’t be a fashion victim, dress to be comfortable as we have had some issues with heating in our classrooms. It is always good to be prepared with a jumper when it is cool. A reminder also to have names on jumpers.
Australia Education Union Industrial Action
By close of business today (Friday 15 May) we have received no indication that a previously proposed Australian Education Union (AEU) half day (morning) strike action on Tuesday 19 May will go ahead.
If there are any changes, I will provide an update on Monday.
