The preparation for those students who are completing the sacrament of Confirmation and Eucharist will start this Wednesday night at 6:30pm at the St Kilian's church. The sessions will continue each Wednesday night in the month of May.
May we keep those students in our prayers as they prepare to the receive the sacraments.
We will be offering baptism as part of our St Peter's Feast Day mass in the last week of term. If you would like to have your child baptised into the Catholic faith please see Mr Wilkinson and he will provide you with the details and information to make this happen.
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God. Trust in me also. My Father’s house has many rooms. If that were not true, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me. Then you will also be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.”
Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going. So how can we know the way?”
Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father. That will be enough for us.”
Jesus answered, “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. So how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say are not just my own. The Father lives in me, and he is doing his work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Or at least believe because of the works you have seen. Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing. In fact, they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”
Summary
In this reading, Jesus reassures his followers not to be afraid. He promises that there is a place for everyone with God and reminds them that he is “the way, the truth, and the life.” Jesus shows us how to live by trusting in God and caring for others.
At St Peter’s Primary School, this message encourages students to feel safe, valued, and hopeful. Just like Jesus prepares a place for everyone, our school is a place where all belong. Students are invited to follow Jesus’ example—being truthful, making good choices, and helping others. By doing this, they continue Jesus’ work in small but powerful ways each day.
