Clarinda Road maintenance works
Maintenance works will start on approximately 740 metres of Clarinda Road in Oakleigh South between Bourke Road and Bunney Road.
The works will involve replacing layers of the road, asphalt resurfacing and line marking to restore the condition of the road.
When to expect us
Works are expected to take place from Tuesday 5 May to Wednesday 20 May 2026.
Works will take place under nightly road closures to minimise traffic disruption and to keep our crews safe. Crews will work between 9pm and 5am, Sundays to Thursdays. No works will take place on Friday and Saturday nights. The road will reopen every morning from 5am.
Dates and times are subject to change due to weather conditions and the contractor’s program of works.
What to expect during night works
- A nightly road closure on Clarinda Road between Bourke Road and Bunney Road. Detours will be in place via the Dingley Bypass, Warrigal Road and Centre Road. Crews will work along one section of Clarinda Road at a time.
- Crews will work with property owners to maintain access to private properties and businesses within this section of Clarinda Road. Please speak to a traffic management controller during works if you require access.
- No parking on this section of Clarinda Road.
- Medium to high levels of noise when crews remove the surface layers of road. Low to medium levels of noise are expected during all other works. Crews will schedule the noisiest works in the earlier part of the shift, where possible.
- Crews use modern equipment to keep noise to a minimum, however the works will unavoidably emit some noise and light. For the safety of road users and workers, reversing beepers are required on all machinery.
- Emergency service vehicle access will be maintained.
- A reduced speed limit around the work zone of 40km/h to ensure the safety of crews and all road users.
