R U OK? Day is a national day that reminds us that a simple question - “Are you OK?” - can be the beginning of an important conversation. It encourages us to check in with the people around us, listen without judgement and let others know that they are not alone.

To celebrate R U OK? Day at Weeden Heights Primary School, our students took part in a Rock Painting Lunchtime Club. Students painted colourful rocks with positive, encouraging and inspiring messages to brighten someone’s day.

These special rocks will now be placed around our school grounds for students and families to discover. We hope that finding a colourful rock with a kind message will bring a smile, provide a little encouragement or remind someone that they are cared for.

Remember, looking after our wellbeing can start with something as simple as checking in, listening and showing that we care. So, don’t forget to look out for our R U OK? rocks and, most importantly, look out for each other!
