What's been happening this week?

TERM 3 ART WRAP UP

Our budding artists kicked off  Term 3 by celebrating NAIDOC Week through creative artworks inspired by First Nations artists and art practices.

Students in Prep to Year 2 explored the inspiring work of the Tjanpi Desert Weavers, learning about their unique woven sculptures and the stories behind their art. They then created their own yarning sticks or sculptures using a range of materials and weaving techniques.

Students in Years 3–6 investigated the vibrant artwork of Jimmy Pike, discovering how he used colour, pattern and storytelling to share his experiences and culture. They then made their own scratch art paper before creating bold scratch art designs inspired by his distinctive style.

It has been wonderful to see our students engage with Aboriginal art and culture while developing their creativity and artistic skills. We hope you enjoy some of their finished masterpieces as well as process photos! 

CELEBRATION DAY

The perfect Spring day for a Picnic in the Park!  Our latest whole school Celebration Day was thoroughly enjoyed by al lour students who achieved another 4000 positive acknowledgments recognising our school values of AMBITION, COMPASSION, COURAGE and CREATIVITY!
