End of Term 3
As we reach the end of Term 3, I would like to thank our students, staff and families for another busy and productive term. It has been wonderful to see students continue to grow in confidence, engage in their learning and contribute positively to our school community. Thank you to our families for your ongoing support, communication and involvement throughout the term, and to our staff for the care, energy and commitment they bring to our students each day. We hope everyone enjoys a well-earned break and returns refreshed for Term 4.
Celebration Day – Picnic in the Park
Today we celebrated another successful Celebration Day with our Picnic in the Park. Our students earned this celebration by continuing to demonstrate our school values of Compassion, Ambition, Courage and Creativity and by filling our Celebration Tree with recognition birds. It was a lovely way to finish the term and acknowledge the many positive choices students have made across the school. We are proud of the way our students continue to look out for one another, engage in their learning and contribute to a positive school environment.
School Toilet Upgrade – Term 4
Works on our student toilets will take place mostly next term, but tomorrow fencing will be installed to prepare for works to begin as soon as we finish our cupcake stall tomorrow afternoon. We are very excited to finally get things moving and give our student toilets the refresh they have been waiting for!
While the existing toilets are being upgraded, temporary toilet facilities will be installed beside the bike shed for student use. We will make sure students are familiar with the temporary arrangements and that access and supervision are managed carefully throughout the works.
We appreciate everyone’s patience while the upgrade is underway. There may be a few inconveniences along the way, but we think the end result will be well worth the wait. We’re looking forward to seeing the old facilities flushed with the past and welcoming some much-needed improvements. Hopefully the works all run smoothly and without too much loo-sing around!
Junior Playground upgrade visit from Paul Hamer MP
This morning we were pleased to welcome local MP Paul Hamer to Box Hill North Primary School to speak with some of our Junior students and our School Captains, Kieva and Hugo, about the North East Community Fund grant our school has received to support the upgrade of our Junior Playground.
The new playground is planned for completion over the summer holidays, and it was wonderful to hear students sharing their excitement with Paul about the different elements they are looking forward to enjoying. Our students were very enthusiastic about the plans and appreciated the opportunity to talk about what the new space will mean for them.
Our new Junior Playground will be integrated with our existing steel monkey bar structures, replacing all the wooden parts of the Junior Playground. It will also feature an inclusive and accessible entry point with rubber flooring. Existing components of the Junior Playground will be painted to look fresh and new - we doubt anyone will be able to tell they aren't brand new!
We are very grateful for the funding support that is helping us improve this important part of our school grounds and are looking forward to seeing the new Junior Playground take shape over the Summer break.
Term 3 concludes TOMORROW at 2.30pm
We look forward to finishing the term strongly and celebrating the many achievements of our students before everyone heads off for a well-earned break.
