Colour Run

What a wonderful week it has been in our school community! On Friday 22 May, we held our much-anticipated Colour Run, and what an incredible event it was. The energy and enthusiasm from our students was absolutely infectious, and it was heartwarming to see everyone participating in such a fun and meaningful way.

Events like this are a powerful reminder of the importance of physical activity and overall wellbeing, and we hope the smiles and laughter from the day carry through for some time to come.

A sincere and heartfelt thank you to every parent who volunteered their time, donated, and supported the day in any way. Your generosity and involvement made all the difference, and the day simply would not have been the success it was without you.

National Reconciliation Week

This week also marks National Reconciliation Week, a time for all Australians to learn, reflect, and celebrate our shared history and the rich cultures of our First Nations peoples. On Wednesday 27 May, a group of our students had the wonderful opportunity to attend the National Reconciliation Week Breakfast alongside Mr Salisbury. It was a meaningful and memorable experience, and we are proud of the respect and curiosity our students brought to such an important occasion.

DaVinci Decathlon

Tuesday 26 May saw a number of our Year 5/6 students represent our school at the Da Vinci Decathlon — a challenging and exciting academic competition that tests students across ten diverse disciplines, including engineering, creative producers, science, mathematics, English, art and poetry, cartography, code breaking, and philosophy. Students are required to think critically, collaborate under pressure, and draw on knowledge across a broad range of areas — no small feat! Our students rose to the occasion with great enthusiasm and represented our school with distinction. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them.

Community Breakfast

Wednesday 27 May also brought one of the highlights of the term — a wonderful community breakfast organised by our fantastic Parents and Friends Committee. Families, staff, and students gathered together before school in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, sharing a meal and each other's company. It is moments like these that truly define who we are as a school community, and we cannot thank the P&F enough for their tireless work in bringing this event to life. Your dedication to our school family is deeply appreciated.

Farewell Darryl Bischoff

After many years of loyal and dedicated service, our much-loved bus driver Darryl Bischoff is hanging up the keys and heading into a well-earned retirement. Day after day, year after year, Darryl has been a friendly and familiar face for so many of our students — the steady, dependable presence at the start and end of each school day. For many of our children, Darryl has been one of the first people to greet them in the morning and one of the last to see them safely home in the afternoon. His quiet, consistent care has been incredibly invalu. Darryl, you have been a cherished part of our school community, and the warmth and dedication you have shown our students over the years will not be forgotten. We wish you a retirement filled with rest, joy, and every adventure you have been looking forward to. You will be greatly missed — and very fondly remembered.

National Simultaneous Storytime

This week, our school joined thousands of schools and libraries across Australia in celebrating National Simultaneous Storytime! At the same moment, students from coast to coast gathered together to share in the joy of reading and listening to a story — a wonderful reminder of the magic that books bring to children everywhere.

A huge thank you to Mrs Carter for organising our school's participation and making it such a special event for our students. Her enthusiasm for fostering a love of reading truly makes a difference.

We hope the children enjoyed every page!

ELC Development Update

Exciting things continue to take shape with our Early Learning Centre development. Our Development Application is currently with Tea Tree Gully Council, and we look forward to updating the school community on progress very soon. Watch this space!
