Dear Parents, Care Givers, Students, Staff and Friends of St Francis' Primary School,
As we rapidly near the end of the school year, I am extremely grateful for the work and support of our staff throughout the year as they guide our young people with care, compassion, and quality teaching. I am also very appreciative of the support of our parent community, trusting us with the education of your children. Together, the united approach of school, home and child is a powerful combination that leads to the best outcomes for our students. Thank you to all for your support and efforts throughout the year.
I look forward to joining our school community at our End of Year Mass to be held at St Mary’s Church next Thursday 11th at 10.00 am. Parents and carers are most welcome to attend, and to join us for morning tea afterward. Our Grade 6 students will then celebrate the completion of their primary schooling at their Graduation event to be held that evening. This is a special celebration for them as they now look to transition to secondary school. We wish them all well!
As we look toward 2026, I announce that Mr Dominic Izzard, who joined our community this term as joint Deputy Principal, has accepted a Principal position at St Patrick’s Primary School in Albury. We thank Dom for his support across the term and wish him and his family well as they relocate to Albury. Congratulations and best wishes, Dom! Catholic Education Sandhurst is currently seeking additional leadership support for St Francis in 2026 which will be shared with our community as soon as this becomes available. We also look forward to welcoming Mr Matt Carver back to the school at some stage through the year.
A reminder that the first day for students in 2026 is Friday 30th January. As we finalise the learning program for the year, I wish you all a most joyous Christmas, and a happy, healthy and peace-filled New Year.
May the peace and blessings of the season be with you all.
Bev Thorp
Acting Executive Principal
Loving God,
As we come to the close of this school year, we pause to give You thanks. Thank You for the gift of learning, for the friendships we have made, and for the care and guidance of our teachers and families.
Bless all who have been part of our school community this year.May those who are moving on go with Your peace, and may those returning be renewed in spirit.
Help us to carry the lessons of kindness, faith, and hope into the holidays and beyond. Keep us safe in Your loving care, and bring us back together ready to grow in wisdom and love.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
