Year 1/2

Grade 1-2 have really enjoyed the end of our unit on measurement by learning about capacity by filling different sized containers with water and comparing how much water fits inside each container.

It is amazing to see how far all students have come in their learning this year, well done everyone on a fantastic year of learning.

As we head into the last few weeks of the year, please send a large, strong plastic bag to school so students can bring home all of their books and work from the year. We have also started collecting all blue reader folders, please have a look at home for any books that might have been misplaced during the year. Blue folders will be washed and stored for next year.

Year 3/4

At school this year, we had been given laptops instead of iPads. Laptops are a big upgrade because we had a bigger screen. We went swimming at Aqua moves for one whole week.  We also went to camp at Murray Life Adventures. At the camp we went on a zipline, giant swing and a lot more activities.    Bodhi Gr 4

My highlight of 2025 has been becoming friends with Ryder and seeing all my old friends.

I went to Bodhi's for a birthday party and sleepover. I also enjoyed going between two classrooms.  Harry Gr 4

One of my highlights was making it to the next level and coming 3rd in hurdles and in the relays finishing 4th being the first runner. Another is SAKG getting my knife and wheelbarrow licences and close to getting my tool licence. Another pretty good achievement is doing well at Aquamoves. And my final one is doing well in sport/bluearth, doing well in almost every game. By Levi Brereton Grade 4/5.

New laptops, Peaceful Kids, my friends, Book week, Bookfair and Mr O. Tommy J Gr 4

My highlights of 2025

I  enjoyed our netball winter sports because I like playing netball with my friends. I liked Athletics Day because I got to do all the events. I liked writing my own narrative. I liked our Book Week because we got to do fun activities. It was fun when the Richmond players came to our school because it was very interesting.   Abbie Gr4

Athletics day was my favourite day of the year, the best too.

Camp. This was in March the 13th and the 14th. We went on the flying fox that was scary.

I was really scared, I did not want to do that but when I did it was really fun.

SAKG Cooking and Garden . We are so lucky  to have Mrs. Conroy, she is the best at Cooking and Gardening.  Swimming at Aquamoves was great too.  Jetter Gr3

My highlight of 2025 has been when we do SAKG with Mrs Conroy  and when we do garden. I liked when we went on school camp and we got to sleep in those hot cabins and do the giant swing! I liked it when we got to do athletics,so much fun but it was also hot. Even some footy people came too and those who had a jersey got an autograph and those who had posters were able to get  autographs.   Maddie Daniel Gr4

SAKG with Mrs  Conroy. We do cooking and garden with Mrs Conroy. It is where you can cook different foods that you may not be used to, like gnocchi and pad thai. Even if you don’t like the food you make, it makes  you love it. Parents even come and help cook.  Sometimes we have muffins. My favourite food we cooked were cinnamon scrolls. Garden. For garden we plant seeds and dig up foods that are ready to cook in the kitchen. Sometimes we do water paint pictures with nature. My favourite thing about SAKG is spending time with my friends. Riva Gr 4

Year 4/5

The students in the 3/4/5 class have explored how Christmas is a fulfilment of God’s promise and a time to celebrate Jesus’ birth. The students explored Scripture passages that highlighted key people that represented deep trust, leadership and faith. With these messages, students created a Jesse Tree; like a family tree, that showed God’s message in learning various parts of Scripture. The Jesse Tree’s branches and roots symbolises' how we can grow like a tree.

Year 6

In Literacy, Grade 6’s read the book Then by Morris Gleitzman (the book after Once), and they absolutely loved it! Many students have already told me that they are wanting to read the next book, and potentially the whole series. For the last two weeks of Term, students will be writing “Lost Chapters”, where they can be as creative as they like, using the author style and characters used in the text. Here is the start of a lost chapter with lots of rising tension, written by Caitlin Murray, and another written by Monica Pavlic-Briggs:

Caitlin:

Then, me and Zelda started to move, until we heard a voice.

“HEY, YOU, STOP!”

I turn around.

There’s a man.

A Nazi.

“Run,” whispers Zelda.

We start to run, but we aren’t fast enough.

He catches us and drags us to his truck. He starts driving but he crashes into a nearby tree. I look at Zelda and see she is just as scared as I am.

Monica:

Then, I hear laughter.

I look over at Zelda.

She hears it too.

We stop walking through the woods.

Zelda screams, “Go away!”.

I join her, “Genia, help us! We’re in the woods!”

I realised my words.

I realised I had just given away our location. I am so stupid. I realised that I had put us in so much danger. But something in me had just taken over. Like when Zelda is being so stubborn, and I just can’t control her.

Then, we ran.

Safety.

We need to find safety.

All students have added lots of detail to their Lost chapters to make them exciting. We can’t wait to see the final product!

In Numeracy, students have recently completed their Decimals, Percentages and Fractions unit, where they strengthened their problem-solving skills and deepened their understanding of how these concepts are interconnected. Over the final two weeks of term, we will focus on practicing a range of mental strategies to solve addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems.
