Gardening Update 

After much needed soil topup, our garden is starting to look green again. Students have planted snow peas, broccoli, kale, silverbeet, broad beans, lettuce, brussels sprouts, potatoes, carrots, parsley, garlic and coriander. The first winter crop that will be ready for harvest is snow peas - not long to wait now!

End of Term 2

On the last day of Term 2, we watched the Socceroos game in Padua. Students enjoyed sausages with Mr Ru as the MasterChef at the BBQ, followed by half-time oranges from our garden and school-grown popcorn. It was so popular, we will definitely plant more this spring. 

As we usually do, we celebrated the end of the term with food from our garden. Just before the winter break, I baked scones for everyone and we had them with jams from our figs and rhubarb.

Seedlings for Sale

We have surplus silverbeet and kale seedlings. If you’d like a punnet, please send me an email at vsimic@santglen.catholic.edu.au or come to the garden Wednesday morning & Thursday at pickup time. Punnets are $3.00 each, cash only please.  We’ll use the funds to buy cooking ingredients for the students.
