Diocesan Athletics Carnival

On Wednesday 5th August, 21 very talented athletes from SMOTA competed in Tamworth at the Diocesan Athletics Carnival. 

It was a very exciting day for them all, and a little nerve-racking for our first timers to the track.

It was a very busy day with competitors in a range of track events both long and short, field events with jumping, throwing, and leaping and we can't forget the very competitive relay races. 

Despite some exhaustion and a little doubt as to whether they could finish their last events, our little champions showed true SMOTA determination and ended up with some AMAZING times! 

The leadership and sportsmanship shown on the day was wonderful to see. So incredibly PROUD!

A BIG congratulations to Ned N for sailing over 1.40m in the High Jump event awarding him 1st Place! 👏🏻🏆 Ned will now move through to compete at the Polding Carnival in Newcastle.

A huge Thankyou to all the parents and carers whom made the trip and helped in anyway, these days are full of memories our young people will treasure and without you it wouldn't happen.
