From the Classroom

Visiting Aboriginal Artist - Foundation and Grades 3/4/5/6
Yorta Yorta artist Tammy Atkinson was back this week to work with the Foundation, Grade 3/4/5/6 students. Tammy shared her artwork with the students, explaining the meaning behind each work. She shared how she creates art, what symbols she uses to tell her stories, and it was amazing to find out that Tammy is the artist behind the Aboriginal Mural at the Toolamba Hall. She also has a cow located in Tatura, and another located near KFC in Mooroopna. She has painted a seat near the river in Murchison and at the lake in Mooroopna, and has painted the skatepark in Merrigum. She has been a great inspiration to the students here at Toolamba and they have very much enjoyed having her visit. The collaborative piece created while Tammy has been here will be displayed in the foyer from next week onwards.
