Work Experience

Year 10 Work Experience is nearly upon us, as students will be out during  Week 4 of Term 2, May 11th to May 15th.  Students who are undertaking a VET subject at Riverside TTC or SuniTAFE will only be attending work experience Monday to Thursday so they can attend their VET on the Friday.  Students who have an SBAT can attend their workplace for the week if this is agreed to by their employer. 

Please use the school holidays to discuss work experience options and to approach employers. The NMLLEN have a School to Work Portal with a range of employers who offer work experience to students. This portal can be accessed via:  www.workplacements.education.vic.gov.au . If your child is interested in any of the opportunities click “Share with Teacher” and that information will come through to Linda (Careers and Pathways Advisor). Please reach out if you need support with this process.

This year the process will be slightly different as Red Cliffs Secondary College will be using the new Department of Education Work-Based Learning (WBL) App. This means there will be no paper-based forms as everything will be completed through a portal.

The WBL App digitises the Arrangement, Travel and Accommodation and Working with Animals forms. 

Students, parents/carers, employers and the Principal will receive links via email to complete and sign the digital arrangement form. An information sheet will be sent home. If a parent/carer, student or employer advise at any stage that they wish to opt-out of 

completing the digital form the school will use the paper-based form.
