Sporting Activities 

Welcome back to our families after what we hope has been a great holiday break for all, and welcome also to our new families!

Sport and Physical Education plays a big part in the development of our student, both through encouraging physical activities and promoting healthy lifestyle choices. This term we have our Athletics Sports, a highlight on our annual calendar.  Students will spend a large amount of time in Physical Education classes with Mr Watt and Mrs Stewart learning important skills to support them with the various running, jumping and throwing events that will take place. Our Athletics Sports have been scheduled for Monday 2nd March (running events at Pedrina Park from grades 1 to 6) and then again on Thursday 5th March here at school for our field events – High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put and Discus.  This will involve all students in Grades Prep to 6. Our Prep students will also complete their running event here at school in the session after our lunch break. Please mark these dates in your calendar!

SMASH Cricket

A new cricket opportunity for girls aged 10-14 is being made available to families.  The program will run over 4 weeks from 4:30 to 5:30pm on a Wednesday night at Kennedy Oval.  Registrations are essential.  Information has been sent out this week via XUNO from Mr Watt.

School Netball

Earlier today notices were sent home for students in grades 3 to 6 who are keen to represent our school in the Hamilton Netball Association Junior Competition, held on Saturday mornings throughout term 1.  We are that Expression of Interest forms are please sent back to school by Tuesday of next week please so that Mr Watt and I can finalise teams and registrations on Wednesday.

South West Division Swimming Championships

This event will be held at Aquazone in Warrnambool on Friday 27th February and is aimed at students with very strong swimming capabilities.  Students are required to meet specific entry times to qualify with entries closing on Friday 20th February.  No late entries will be accepted.  If this is of interest to you and your child please contact me ASAP to discuss.

Hot Shots Tennis (District Tennis) 

Hot Shot tennis will be taking place on Thursday 26th February.  More information will follow via XUNO in the coming weeks.
