Registering Student Absences

We wish to remind all families the process of notifying the College when your child is absent or attending an appointment during the school day. Parent notification is required when your son is arriving late, leaving early, absent or has planned absences. Should students arrive after 8.40am, they must sign in at Student Services.

  • PAM is the official platform for families to register the absence or illness of their child, for planned appointments or holidays ahead of time. PAM is secure and accessible 24 hours a day.
  • Your child’s absence / late arrival or early finish must be registered by 9.45am that day.
  • If the 9.45am cut off has passed, you must register your child’s absence for that day with the relevant campus via the following email:

Bentleigh East     absentee.student.bentleigh@stbedes.catholic.edu.au

Mentone                absentee.student.mentone@stbedes.catholic.edu.au

Parents receive a SMS if their child is absent from his morning Homeroom or Tutor Group.

Mentone Traffic & Street Parking

40km Zone Beach Rd Extension

The school zone on Beach Road has been expanded further towards Warrigal Road to improve the safety of our students. The expanded school zone is in operation with electronic speed limit signs from 8am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4pm.

Mentone Driving & Parking Infringements

Kingston City Council’s Parking Enforcement team is on patrol and enforcing road rules and illegal parking to ensure compliance and safety throughout the week. Please ensure you are driving and parking appropriately within any zones on surrounding streets, particularly Dixon Street (no U-Turns) and Palermo Street.

We wish to remind our College Community about the importance of safe driving behaviour around school crossings. To keep everyone in our community safe, we ask that you please:

  • Always slow down when approaching school crossings.
  • Obey crossing supervisors and wait until pedestrians have completely crossed.
  • Never stop or park in no-stopping zones near crossings, as this blocks visibility.
  • Avoid distractions such as mobile phones when driving near the school.
  • Be patient – a few extra minutes can prevent a tragedy.

Together, we can ensure that school drop-off and pick-up times are safe for everyone.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us protect the safety and wellbeing of our community.
