Science

On 20th October 2026, our students joined more than 20 schools from across Victoria for the Girls in STEM 2026 Celebration Day at NAB Arena, hosted by Veski and the Bionics Institute.
The day celebrated students who completed the Girls in STEM Mentoring Program throughout Term 2 and 3. Our girls were recognised for their outstanding participation and dedication, and for demonstrating commitment to learning, curiosity in exploration and passion for discovery — the qualities that will shape the future of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Our team researched bionics – how cochlear implants help restore hearing, and splitting water using lead and stainless steel (Electrolysis of Water).
They presented their work during their earlier visits to CSIRO and St Vincent’s labs, where they also saw this research on a larger scale in real-world laboratories. Both teams will present their findings to students and staff in school .
Congratulations to our girls ( Yu FU, Andrea THOMAS ,Raha SHARIF, Saanvi JOSHI, Jade DODGSON, Jade DAWSON, Bianca LEACH, Caitlin (Caitie) ARMSTRONG on this outstanding achievement !
