2027 Parent Contributions

Blackburn Primary School – 2027 Parent Payment Policy
Dear Parents and Carers,
On behalf of the staff and students of Blackburn Primary School, we would like to sincerely thank you for your ongoing support, whether through fundraising, volunteering your time or contributing to our school community. Your generosity and involvement make a significant difference to our school and the programs and opportunities we can offer our students.
Parent support helps us maintain a strong focus across all key learning areas, particularly literacy and numeracy. We are proud to offer a broad range of educational experiences that support our students’ academic, social and emotional growth.
The 2027 Parent Payment Policy
The Department of Education has updated the Parent Payment Policy for 2027, meaning all families will receive a new document outlining the arrangements for the coming school year. We encourage you to take the time to read through the information relevant to your child or children so you understand the different categories of payments, contributions and activities.
The policy outlines two key areas of support for our school: tax-deductible donations and voluntary contributions.
Tax-Deductible Donations
Families continue to have the option of making tax-deductible donations to support the ongoing improvement of our school. These donations help us plan for building projects, facility upgrades and the continued development of our library, ensuring students have access to a wonderful range of books to enjoy and borrow.
Voluntary Contributions
Voluntary contributions have helped Blackburn Primary School provide a wide range of additional programs, resources and facilities that enrich the curriculum and enhance our students’ learning experiences. These opportunities support our vision of fostering curious, confident, lifelong and open-minded learners.
The benefits of our school community’s support can be seen throughout Blackburn Primary School, including:
- Our Patch program and kitchen garden.
- Well-maintained facilities, gardens and grounds.
- Three separate playground areas, tennis courts, netball and basketball courts and quiet play spaces.
- Strong safety management, compliance measures and well-maintained first aid equipment.
- Staff first aid training and upgrades to sporting equipment.
- Opportunities to celebrate and recognise student achievement.
- A range of clubs and activities before school, after school and during lunchtimes.
Our Wellbeing and Chaplaincy programs provide valuable support to many students and families, making a positive difference across our wider school community. The support of our families helps us continue to provide these enriching opportunities and strengthen the experiences we offer our students.
2027 Events and Activities
The new policy also includes a list of possible events and activities that your child may be invited to participate in during 2027, together with estimated associated costs. We encourage families to review this information as part of planning for the year ahead.
We recognise that every family’s financial circumstances are different. For families who choose to participate in activities or make contributions, instalment arrangements can be discussed with our office to help spread costs over a period that suits their circumstances.
Our office team is happy to discuss available payment arrangements confidentially and work with families to identify a suitable approach. Please contact us by phone or email:

Kind regards,
