It is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.

Good afternoon, families,

 

Thank you for all the support you have given the school this term. It has been a busy and fun term for both staff and students. All the students seem settled into their new classrooms and have formed good relationships with their classmates and teachers.

 

Term 2 starts on Tuesday, 21 April. On Monday, the staff will be working on our school Review that will take place in August this year. There will be more information about our Review throughout next term.

 

Term 2 

Monday 20 April – pupil-free day

Tuesday 21 April – students return and can wear either full winter or summer uniform until Monday 4 May

Wednesday 22 April – Yrs 3 – 6 Athletic carnival 

Friday 24 April – Yr 6 Lightning Premiership 

 

The Year 6 Lightning Premiership 

The Lightning premiership will be held on Friday, 24 April, for all year 6 students. 

 

Now, to the thank yous for all the work in our busy last week of Term 1...

 

Year 6 Fruit Stall 

Thank you to the Year 6 students for running the fruit stall yesterday at lunch time. The money will go to Project Compassion. Thank you also to Mrs Traynor and Woolworths for working together to organise this.

Parent/Teacher Interviews 

Thank you to the teachers for their expertise and time in holding this term’s parent-teacher interviews. Thank you to all the parents who attended these interviews.

 

Easter Bonnet Parade Prep – Year 2 

Thank you to all the parents for the amazing Easter bonnets that were on parade yesterday. Thank you to Mrs Healy for once again MCing the event. Thank you to the PFA for the second speaker we were able to purchase with the money raised in 2025.

Prep – 2 Athletic Carnival 

Thank you to Mr Andrew for organising yesterday’s athletic carnival for the junior school. Thank you to the Year 6 House Spirit leaders for their hard work running the different stations and coordinating the music, and to the parents/ grandparents who were able to attend and support our students.

P&F Easter Egg Raffle 

Thank you to the PFA for organising this event and to all the families who donated eggs and sold raffle tickets. 38 prizes were given out at random, with winners across the school. Miss Pace was a popular winner of the staff draw.

 

ANZAC Day merchandise 

We will be selling ANZAC merchandise in the first week of next term. Our school captains will also be attending the Chelsea ANZAC Parade and wreath laying ceremony on ANZAC Day with Mr Wood. We invite any families to come and join us.

 

Railway Crossing update:

Station Street:-  From Thursday, 30 April, the Station Street level crossing will be permanently closed. Local access is maintained to Scope Disability Services. 

 

Construction of the new roundabout at Station Street is closed between Attenborough Road and James Avenue. Detours via James Avenue and Eulinga Avenue. Local traffic will have driveway access. Please expect delays and plan ahead. Pedestrian access, with minor detours and delays. 

 

Temporary no standing zones on Mill Street, James Avenue and Eulinga Avenue. At times until late 2026 

 

From Thursday 30 April to Thursday 21 May , level crossing removal works will mean Station Street is closed between the level crossing and Attenborough Road. Pedestrian access over the rail line will be maintained, and locations may change. Please follow signage and detours

 

End of Term 1Start of Term 2  

On Thursday, 2 April, school will finish for the term holidays at 1 pm.

 

Term 2 will commence on Tuesday, 21 April, as usual. Students can wear either the full summer uniform or full winter uniform until Monday, 4 May, when all students MUST wear full winter uniform.
