Car Park Safety

We would like to bring to your attention some safety concerns with the carpark and children entering the school in the mornings and also exiting in the afternoons. We have had a number or close calls over our first week of school and want to make sure that all members of our school community are safe.
Please note:
- We have a supervised crossing in the carpark (across from the tram) and we would encourage families to use this and talk to their children about waiting for the teacher on duty to assist them to cross.
- At the front entrance we would like all students to either use the bike path and cross at the crossing or use the front double gates to enter the school depending on the direction they come to school. Please do not walk your children through the entrance or exit driveway to the school; this is extremely unsafe.
- Our crossing on Dolphin street is manned by the council. Please take notice of her stop sign and stop when you see this and wait till the crossing is cleared before proceeding.
- There are a number of students who are already unrestrained when they enter the carpark in their cars. Please make sure that children stay in their carseats/seatbelts until your car comes to a complete stop for them to exit.
- Our carpark speed limit is 10kph.
If we can all work together to make sure that we follow the rules and make sure that all of our students and families are kept safe. Thank you for your cooperation.
