Act Belong Commit

We all know that exercise is great for our health and wellbeing, and it was great to see our students, staff, parents and caregivers participating in a lot of exercise by running in and around for our Faction Sports Carnival! Congratulations to everyone who participated and we thank you for your commitment to supporting our students to engage in some physical activity and build some rain resilience too. We think the record might go to Mr Thomlinson for the most exercise for the day with 19361 steps but please let us know if you beat his record and you’ll be featured in the next newsletter! We had a lot of people clocking the physical activity guidelines recommendation of 10,000+ steps a day to improve health and wellbeing.

We also want to say a big thank you to Mr Lee for not only coordinating our Faction Sports Carnival but his Act Belong Commit actions throughout the year including but not limited to, cross country, camp, S.T.A.R.S. and also our Interschool Activities throughout the year. Good luck to our students for Interschool on Friday 13th September at Nollamara Primary School and we are very proud of them representing Marangaroo Primary School.

National Child Protection Week

As part of National Child Protection Week some of our students participated in Esafety education.

eSafety provides a wide range of online safety programs and resources that empower all Australians to have safer more positive online experiences.

Indigenous Literacy Day update

Indigenous Literacy Day: Wednesday 4th September.

This year for Indigenous Literacy day we celebrate the theme ‘Be A Proud Voice for Country!’

Indigenous Literacy Day was on Wednesday 4th September but as we rescheduled our Sports Carnival to this date we will instead be rewatching the Indigenous Literacy Day virtual event and film that helps us to share stories, cultures, and languages, featuring many Proud Voices For Country.

The content can be rewatched at any time via the links below for the remainder of the year as we want to be able to celebrate, support and embrace Indigenous Literacy throughout the year.
