National Simultaneous Storytime
National Simultaneous Storytime was a wonderful success across our school this week, with students enthusiastically joining thousands of children around Australia to listen to this year’s featured story, Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller.

Students enjoyed listening to the story together before engaging in rich classroom discussions about the important themes explored throughout the text, particularly resilience, perseverance, courage, self-belief and embracing what makes us unique. Many classes reflected on how challenges can help us grow and how important it is to keep trying, even when things feel difficult.
Following the story, students participated in a variety of engaging follow-up activities including wellbeing discussions, directed drawings, creative responses, Seesaw reflections and collaborative classroom tasks. It was fantastic to see such enthusiastic participation and creativity from students across all year levels.
Families are encouraged to continue these important conversations at home. You can enjoy the read-aloud version of Luna Roo the Kangaroo Baller through Story Box Hub, and a PDF copy of the story is also available for families to read together. Sharing stories at home provides valuable opportunities for rich discussions around resilience, emotions, problem-solving and personal growth.
Our Luna Roo colouring and design competition closed today (Friday). Students were encouraged to submit their entries via their classroom bucket to go into the draw for a chance to win. Winners will be announced on Monday after lunch.
