Principal's Report

Tim Furphy, Principal

Week 9 has nearly gone, before we know it the Winter holidays will be here. I'm meant to be at Mt Hotham over the break which is looking a little dicey given the lack of snow!

We've had an extra-long weekend with staff completing Literacy PD on our Curriculum Day last week before students returned on Wednesday. It's been busy since with our whole school disco (SWPBS celebration), Working Bee, Kitchen Garden and an athlete visit from the VIS.

While we still have a week to go, this is our final newsletter for the term. I know I will see many of you at the gate throughout next week but for those that I don't, I hope you all have a great break. Please let it snow on the hills!!!

WORKING BEE

Thank you to Erin, Jacki, Scott, Ted, Steph, Jae, John, Younes, Vida, Sharny and Jacqueline (and the kids that got their hands dirty!!) for your time on Saturday. Very much appreciated your effort on a cold but mostly dry (thankfully) day.

BUILDING FUND DONATIONS

Thank you to all families that have contributed to our building fund. Di has receipts ready (given they're tax deductible) to send out at the end of next week. These donations go a long way to the upkeep of our buildings - currently we're aiming to enclose our classroom spaces with this money, however we still have a ways to go. Any other families wishing to donate, a reminder with June 30 approaching it is a tax-deductible donation.

WOOD RAFFLE.

We have had a great response to our wood raffle and so far, we have sold 427 tickets. I wonder if we can hit 500 tickets.

Just a reminder that ticket sales will finish on Wednesday 24th at 10pm.

If you would like to purchase some tickets, please head to the office to collect, or you can go to https://compasstix.com/e/dj0y2yvmb9 and purchase online.  This will be drawn at our assembly on Friday the 26th of June at 2.15pm.  Good luck.

DRESS FOR THE WEATHER

Please be mindful of the cold weather when helping your child prepare their uniform for the day. We're noticing plenty without jumpers and jackets, please encourage wearing some warm layers! This really supports our sustainable practices by layering up, being warm and minimising the time spent of the heaters blasting. We have some second hand uniform available at the office for a gold coin donation, alternatively you can jump on Edu-Threads to look at the Winter range.
