SPORT DATES TERM 3

Representative Sport

Our Year 6 students recently participated in an exciting Basketball Gala Day, showcasing their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun and competitive environment. Throughout the day, students played multiple games against other schools, applying the techniques and strategies they’ve been developing during PE lessons and outside of school in their competitive teams. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to demonstrate leadership, resilience, and school spirit. We’re incredibly proud of their effort, enthusiasm, and the way they represented our school!

JERSEY UPDATE

Moving forward students who receive a jersey for any upcoming trial, gala day or interschool sport will be recorded as proof of this borrowing method. This will allow our school to continue to use these jerseys and have enough for all students to wear and represent our school proudly at the many sporting events we provide to all students. Once jerseys are washed and returned to the school office, our staff will mark that the jersey has been returned. Any jerseys not returned will incur a fee to replace this jersey.

Please check the wardrobes at home and return any jerseys of any style (singlet, soccer jersey or footy jersey) which belongs to the school. Thank you for the cooperation with this matter.

Interschool Sport

We haven't had the best run with the weather and our Interschool Sport Dates. SCS are hoping to reschedule the Year 4 Shark Tag Gala Day to Term 4. Any communications will be sent via compass.

Just a reminder that the Year 5 Interschool soccer has been rescheduled. The new date is the 29th of July which is a Tuesday. This event will run the same as all of our interschool events.

On Monday the 23rd of June our Year 6 girls competed at the Interconference Soccer Gala Day. What a day it was! With determination, teamwork, and plenty of school spirit, the girls played a series of exciting matches against local schools. They demonstrated fantastic ball control, smart passing, and strong defensive play, all while encouraging and supporting one another. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow with each game, and we’re so proud of the way they represented our school with pride, positivity, and resilience.

Throughout week 6 this term our qualifying students will receive all necessary information for the Conference 3 Trial on Tuesday 5th August 2025.Congratulations to the below students who have progressed based on eligibility, qualifying measurements or times and maximum progression rule set by SCS which is different for each event.

This document has been shared with families of Years 3-6 which contains an overview of all Sydney Catholic Schools Interschool Sport for Stage 2 and 3 throughout 2025.

SCS Sporting Pathways - Representative

The Representative Pathway Sports will continue into Term 2 2025 with many sports already in the MacKillop Trial stage. This is because the representative sport calendar season with Sydney Catholic Schools runs from Term 4 2024 to Term 3 2025. 

Year 5 and Year 6 students have the opportunity to represent St Patrick’s at trials to progress through the pathway system. The sports they will be able to trial for are varied and many are open to both boys and girls. 

To be considered for selection to represent St Patrick’s students require experience and to be playing the sport as a registered player at a high level of skill outside of school. This should be in the form of a regular, structured rep, Division 1 or equivalent A level competition. Parents had the opportunity to nominate their child via an electronic form last year. This form will be re-sent during Term 3 2025 to gather any new or updated information regarding your child's sport involvement outside of school. Nominations for this sports calendar season have closed as trials have commenced.
