Student Support

Pip, Rhona and Leah

Last term, the VM Personal Development Skills class undertook a school wide survey to find out what lunch time clubs our students would like to see. The results are in, and a lunchtime netball tournament is now here!

Supporting this student-led approach is more than just an exercise in data collection and evaluation. Undertaking a genuine and meaningful process to learn what is important to students is one way that we can promote student voice and agency. This approach empowers our students and encourages increased participation and engagement.

Seven student teams have signed up for this fast and fun competition, which started this week and will run on Thursday lunchtimes throughout the term. We will keep you posted as to who is crowned champion. It is great to see the staff get involved too – all thrill, no skill!

Speaking of sporting events, the School House Athletics Carnival is coming up next week.  Good luck to everyone and fingers crossed the glorious sunshine can make a return! We know athletics is not everyone’s cup of tea, but we can all be encouraged to try our best, have fun on the day, and come along to cheer and make the atmosphere great!
