National Walk Safely to School Day

Lace Up! Walk Safely to School Day is Coming!

Get ready to step out and enjoy the fresh air! On Friday 22 May our school will be participating in National Walk Safely to School Day.

This annual event encourages primary school children and their families to walk and commute safely to school. It’s a fantastic way to promote physical activity, reduce traffic congestion around our school gates, and teach our kids vital road safety skills.

You’re Invited

St Joseph’s staff will be walking to school Friday 22 May from the grass area near Bulli Beach Cafe. Teachers will assemble at the meeting point pictured below. Parents and students are warmly invited to walk to school with staff. Staff will leave the Bulli Beach Cafe grass area at 8:20am. Should your child require an epi pen or asthma puffer on the walk, please ensure they bring these with them whilst walking. As this is considered a school event, dogs should be left at home or walked 10m away from the children where possible.

We are excited to share that Years 1 and 2 will be participating in a mobile circus gymnastic program run by Corie Hurry, a 2015 graduate of Australia's National Institute of Circus Arts and Advanced Gymnastics with over 15 years of coaching and performing experience.

This will take place at school during Weeks, 5, 7, 9 and 10 on a Monday. As a result:

Year 1sport will take place on Mondays and Tuesdays during this time.
Year 2sport will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays during this time

Students will need to be in sports uniform on these days to participate in the gymnastic program and timetabled PE program with Mrs Mitchell.

Please note that students will be required to remove and put their shoes back on independently during the gymnastics sessions. We encourage families to support children in practising this skill at home to help them feel confident and prepared.

Congratulations to all the students who represented St Joseph’s Bulli at the Wollongong Diocesan Cross Country held in Nowra on Tuesday 28th April. Their effort, determination, and sportsmanship were outstanding, as they represented our school with great pride.

A special congratulations to the following students who were selected in the Diocesan Team and will compete in the CSNSW MacKillop Championships at the Sydney Equestrian Centre on Wednesday 24 June:

  • Thomas M (4th – 11 Years)

This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to their hard work and commitment. We wish them the very best as they prepare for this next level of competition.

We are delighted to announce that St Joseph’s Bulli placed 2nd in the overall point score out of 31 schools in the diocese—an incredible achievement for our school community.

Ask your child about the weekly focus for students.

This week's focus:

Think about how you react.

Use strategies to respond respectfully when you are feeling emotional.

We all hold the power to respond respectfully!
