2027 Prep Enrolments
Applications for 2027 Prep enrolments have now closed. Families have been contacted to confirm their child’s place at MPS, and we are now awaiting confirmation of acceptance.
If you have a child already attending MPS and another child commencing Prep in 2027, please ensure you confirm their enrolment acceptance. Confirmations are important as they allow us to accurately plan the number of Prep classes we can offer and determine the number of out-of-zone applications we may be able to accept.
If your child is starting school next year and you have not yet confirmed their enrolment, please do so as soon as possible.
Parent / Carer Opinion Survey
The 2026 Parent /Carer Opinion Survey is now open, and we encourage all MPS parents and carers to take approximately 20 minutes to share their feedback. The survey helps us understand families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour and student engagement, with your feedback informing our school planning, improvement priorities and professional learning.
The survey is open from Monday 17 August to Friday 18 September 2026 and can be completed online using the school-specific PIN provided to MPS families. Last year’s feedback helped our School Council Education Committee identify opportunities to strengthen communication, including family information flyers and our new short videos explaining assessment, semester reports and the learning continuum.

Book Week
Next week is Book Week, and we have a wonderful week of reading, storytelling and creativity planned for our students!
You may have heard of The Masked Singer — well, next week our students will enjoy listening to a story read by a ‘Masked Reader’ and then trying to guess which staff member is behind the mask! We will also welcome exciting author visits, giving students the opportunity to hear from authors, explore new ideas and be inspired by their stories.
Our students have already been inspired to create their own books, which they will have the opportunity to share during the week. The celebrations will culminate in our Annual Book Parade on Friday 28 August at 9:05am on the basketball court. Our School Council team has also organised a coffee cart for families and visitors attending the parade.
A big thank you to Miss Avery, our Literacy Learning Specialist, who has worked with the Literacy team to put together such an exciting week of celebrations.
Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA)
Our School Council Facilities Committee has been working closely with the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) to prepare the documentation and plans for a large new shade structure that we hope will be constructed in January next year.
The project will change the orientation of our basketball courts so they run parallel to the school building, with one court fully covered by the new COLA. The space will feature electronically operated basketball rings, which can be raised and lowered, as well as new lighting and a sound system.
Our new COLA will provide much-needed protection from sun and rain while creating a versatile space for PE classes, performances, rehearsals and a range of outdoor learning activities.
Planning and constructing a structure of this size is a thorough process, ensuring all building, safety and compliance requirements are met. Once the COLA is complete, we will also re-asphalt the playground and add new line markings to reflect the new location and orientation of the sports courts.
We are keeping our fingers crossed that the COLA will be completed in time for our School Carnival on Saturday 13 March 2027!
Chellee Plumb
