Cake Stall at the Art Show Wednesday 15th October 2025
In conjunction with our annual Art Show we will be holding a Cake Stall and Sausage Sizzle to raise funds for the school. We are asking willing families to bake or purchase fresh baked items such as cakes, cupcakes, scones, slices, biscuits or anything that you fancy* to assist with this stall. If you would like to contribute to the cake stall…
It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3!
Make or purchase your goods on, or as close to Tues 14th October as possible
Place goods in the cake box and bag provided and complete the ingredients label, securely attaching it to the outside of the bag.
Deliver and sign your goods in on 14th October between 8.45-9.30am or 3.15-3.45pm at the Canteen.
NB: If you cannot deliver items to school during that time, donations will also be accepted throughout the day at the office.
*Due to limited fridge space, we ask that goods brought to school are suitable to be kept in a room temperature evironment overnight unless otherwise prearranged with the school office. To comply with current food safety guidelines, we ask that no cream, custard or raw egg fillings be included in any donated items and that you clearly list the ingredients that have been used on the label provided (this also includes cake mix ingredients).
Cake box, bags, and ingredients labels have been sent home to the eldest for the presentation of your baking. If you require more cake boxes, please contact the school office. Thank you so much for your assistance!
Our Parents and Friends School Council Subcommittee have secured a date to host a Bunnings BBQ Fundraiser at the Waurn Ponds store, located 237 Colac Rd, Waurn Ponds on Saturday 18th October, 2025
To make this fundraiser a success, we need the support of our school community.
Please use the link to sign up to a shift to assist on the day.
Or, if you are unable to assist in person on the day, we welcome any Coles or Woolworths gift cards be dropped into the office prior to Wed 15th Oct, to assist with the purchase of supplies for the stand.
Our Annual Concert is happening next week, on Tues 21st Oct at the Geelong Arts Centre (GAC). This is a ticketed event, tickets went on sale at 5pm on Wednesday.
If you have not secured your tickets yet, they can be booked through trybooking HERE.
NB: Student performers do not require a ticket.
A reminder that the following day is the Geelong Cup Public Holiday (22nd Oct), there is no school for students on this day as the school will be closed. A great 'rest day' for our younger students.
Further Ticketing Information:
Once seats have been selected and processed via Trybooking, families will receive a set of physical GAC tickets sent home with their child. GAC Tickets will start coming home with children from next week. These GAC tickets will need to be presented at the door on the night of the concert. However, if they are misplaced, your trybooking confirmation (electronically is fine) can be presented to a staff member on the door.
Fridays have been nominated as Nude Food days at Newtown PS. We encourage families to pack rubbish free lunches each Friday for their children. Our SRC will visit a selection of classes each week, awarding house points to students who have nude food lunches on these days.
