Welcome back to Term 4 at St Mary’s!

We hope all families enjoyed a well deserved break and are feeling refreshed for a busy and exciting term ahead. Over the holidays, we were pleased to commence several important upgrades to our school grounds that further enhance the safety, comfort, and wellbeing of our students. New fencing will be installed in December inside the school perimeter. This improvement not only strengthens our site security but also provides families and staff with greater peace of mind, knowing that our students are learning and playing within a fully enclosed environment. The new fence also helps define our school space, adding to the overall presentation of our grounds.

Additionally, we are pleased to announce the replacement of two new shade cloth structures over our playground areas. These additions will make a significant difference as the warmer months approach, providing much-needed protection from the sun during outdoor play, sport, and learning activities. The new shade spaces will encourage students to stay active and enjoy the outdoors safely throughout the term.

Our Year 3–6 students are continuing their preparations for this year’s Energy Breakthrough (EBT) event.  EBT training sessions at the Bendigo Kart Club have created a fantastic atmosphere filled with teamwork, encouragement, and problem-solving as students fine-tune their vehicles and build their fitness. The enthusiasm and dedication shown during these sessions have been outstanding and reflect the great spirit of our students and staff. Sponsorship requests have been sent out, and we are deeply appreciative of the support we have received from our local community. If you or anyone one you know would like to sponsor our school, please email; principal@sminglewood.catholic.edu.au

We are also excited to be involved in the upcoming Inglewood Alive Festival, where St Mary’s will proudly showcase our Energy Breakthrough vehicle and feature a video display highlighting life and learning at our school. Our team will also be hosting a Hot Dog stall, providing another great way to connect with the community and celebrate the spirit of Inglewood together. We will be seeking parent helpers on the day, so if you can donate some of your time, we would appreciate this.
