Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Families,

What a Wonderful World – What a Wonderful Concert!

What a wonderful evening we shared at our whole school concert, What a Wonderful World! It was an incredible celebration of our students and a wonderful opportunity for our Maramba community to come together. Congratulations to our students and our amazing cast for their enthusiasm, confidence and joy on stage! They should all be incredibly proud of what they achieved.

A very special thank you goes to our extraordinary Performing Arts teacher, Emma Butler, who has been at the heart of bringing the concert together. Emma wrote and directed the play, taught and rehearsed our students, choreographed performances and dedicated countless hours to ensuring everything came together. It was a monumental effort, and we are incredibly grateful for her commitment and passion. We also extend our sincere thanks to Kinect2Dance, who worked with our students throughout last term to develop the choreography and prepare their performances. Their creativity and expertise helped our students shine on stage.

A huge thank you to our Maramba staff for the incredible amount of time, energy and care that went into preparing for the concert. From rehearsals and costumes to organisation, supervision and the many behind-the-scenes jobs that often go unseen, everyone played an important part. This is what teamwork looks like, and nights such as this are only possible because we work together. Thank you also to Nancy Walker, Casey Foord, Jess Warner and Bret Butler for going above and beyond to support the many different aspects of the evening. Your willingness to step in and help was greatly appreciated.

To our families and wonderful audience, thank you for your encouragement and enthusiasm. Seeing our students look out into the audience and see their families cheering them on made the evening even more special. Your support means so much to our students and to our school.

A special thank you also goes to our Friends of Maramba parent group for their ongoing fundraising efforts. Your contribution helps us provide our students with wonderful opportunities and experiences such as this. We were also delighted to have School Council President Claire Huijser and our School Councillors join us for the evening. Thank you for your ongoing support of our school community.

Finally, we were very pleased to welcome our special guest, Member for Parliament Belinda Wilson, who took time out of her busy schedule to join us and celebrate our wonderful students.

What a Wonderful World was certainly a fitting title for an evening that showcased the talent, creativity, teamwork and spirit of our Maramba community. I am incredibly proud of our students and deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to making the evening such a success.

Book Week

This year, we celebrated Book Week with the theme “Symphony of Stories”, highlighting the joy, creativity and imagination that stories bring to our lives. Our celebrations began on Monday 24th August with a Pyjama Dress-Up Day, followed by an exciting performance from Alpha Shows. That afternoon, our families joined us for a special Storytime Afternoon, where students enjoyed listening to a range of picture storybooks read by their teachers.

We concluded our celebrations with our wonderful Book Week Dress-Up Parade on Thursday 26th August. It was fantastic to see our students, staff and families come together throughout the week to celebrate their love of books, stories and reading!
