Staffing Update

Welcome to the team Duana

As Ringwood Swimming Club continues to grow and develop, we are pleased to announce an exciting addition to our coaching team.

Firstly, we are thrilled to announce that Duana McLeod will be joining Ringwood Swimming Club as our Development Coach, overseeing both our Active and Development Stream programs.

Duana brings a wealth of experience and passion to the role, having been involved in swimming for many years as both an athlete, teacher and coach. A qualified swimming teacher for more than a decade, she has taught swimmers of all ages and abilities, from infants taking their first strokes through to adults learning the vital life skill of swimming.

Duana's coaching journey began at Lilydale Swimming Club in 2016 as Assistant Coach before progressing to Head Coach in 2018. During her time leading the club, she has developed a strong reputation for fostering not only successful swimmers, but confident, resilient and well-rounded individuals.

Her coaching philosophy aligns strongly with the values of Ringwood Swimming Club:

"I aim to give my swimmers every possible strategy and opportunity to unlock their talents. I wish for every athlete to achieve their goals, no matter what they may be, no matter what age. Swimming is an individual sport, but you must have a good team for the individual to succeed, and it is the friendships you make that you will remember and forever cherish. Swimming is so much more than a sport. It's all about doing your best and being proud of your efforts."

Duana is passionate about helping swimmers of all ages and abilities reach their potential, whether their goals are fitness, competition, personal development, or simply being part of a supportive club community. We are excited about the experience, energy and leadership she will bring to our coaching team and swimmer pathway.

Alongside this exciting appointment, Lilydale Swimming Club has made the difficult decision to put a hold on its operations after many years of serving swimmers and families in our local community.

As a result, we have worked closely with the committee at Lilydale Swimming Club to provide a clear pathway for swimmers and families to join Ringwood Swimming Club. While this marks the end of an important chapter for Lilydale, it also presents an exciting opportunity to bring together two strong swimming communities and create an even stronger environment for athletes to learn, develop and achieve their goals.

We know many Lilydale swimmers and families already have strong connections within the swimming community, and we are committed to making the transition as smooth and welcoming as possible. Our coaching team and committee look forward to supporting all swimmers as they continue their swimming journey with Ringwood.

We would like to acknowledge and thank Lilydale Swimming Club for its contribution to swimming in our community over many years. The club has played an important role in developing countless swimmers, and we are honored to continue supporting many of those athletes into the future.

We are incredibly excited about this next chapter for Ringwood Swimming Club and look forward to welcoming Duana, Lilydale swimmers and their families into our club community.

Farewell Coach Hannah

It is with both excitement and sadness that we share the news that Coach Hannah G will be joining the Royal Australian Navy next month!

Hannah will be finishing up at RSC on Saturday 27th June as she begins this exciting new chapter. Hannah has been such a valued part of our club, both as a swimmer and as a coach. She brings so much positivity, professionalism, and care to our coaching team and has been a wonderful role model for our swimmers.

We are incredibly proud of Hannah and this amazing achievement. While we will certainly miss her on pool deck, we wish her all the very best for her year with the Navy and hope to see her back at RSC in the future.

To help celebrate Hannah's time at Ringwood and wish her well on her next adventure, we invite all swimmers and parents to join us for a farewell celebration on Saturday 27th June at 10:30am in the clubrooms. We hope you can make it along to help send Hannah off in style (hopefully with a dive off the 10m block in true RSC coach farewell tradition!).

Please see below a message from Hannah:

Hi swimmers and parents,

I have some exciting news to share. I have enlisted in the Royal Australian Navy.

While I am looking forward to the exciting opportunities ahead, this also means I will be saying goodbye to Ringwood Swimming Club.

Being part of this community has meant so much to me. Swimming has been a big part of my life for more than 10 years, and my love for the sport is what first brought me to Ringwood Swimming Club as a swimmer in April 2024, before becoming a coach in August 2025.

I have genuinely loved working with the swimmers and watching their confidence, skills, and commitment grow.

I have also been fortunate to work alongside such a passionate and dedicated coaching team, and I have had the privilege to learn and grow with them. I am incredibly grateful to the committee and parents for your ongoing support, encouragement, and trust. Your commitment to the club and its swimmers has helped create such a positive, supportive, and welcoming environment.

I will truly miss being on pool deck and being part of this wonderful community.

Thank you again for everything, and I wish you all the very best for the future.

Hannah
