YEAR 11-12 SCHOOLNEWS

Year 11 and 12 students have made a positive start to their year. It was great to get our senior students back on campus on Thursday and Friday, and back in the swing of schooling. This year has seen a major change, with our students in the Vocational Major stream moving into our Blue and Green Building along with our students undertaking their VCE pathway. It has been really pleasing to see how seamlessly our students have taken to the space and how we have a united as a senior school. Regardless of what pathway our students are studying, they are part of our Year 11 and 12 programs at Western Heights.
As the year kicks off, so does our annual Year 12 Camp. All our Year 12s head to Ballarat University to get a taste of uni life, as well as specialised sessions on work readiness, study habits and team building. Every year this camp brings our students together and the students get to celebrate their final year and camp together. For more information on this, including payment plans for it, please don’t hesitate to contact the office team. We hope all our students get the opportunity to come and be part of this.
One of our focus’ early in the year is around attendance. To support learning we need our students here everyday. We want all our students to get the best results and outcomes and will be following up any missed time at school. Our leadership team will be following up any unapproved absences. If you are aware that your student is going to be absent, please contact the school and let us know, so we can support your child with any missed learning.
Finally, I want to introduce our leadership team at Year 11 and 12. I encourage you all to reach out to our leaders if you have any questions. I thank them all for their work in setting up the start to our school year:
