Students in Years 7-12 are invited to join our team and walk for an hour or more, throughout the event with team Friendlies, to help raise money and awareness in support of the Cancer Council of Tasmania. Students in Years 5-6 are invited to participate between 2-5pm.
Registration and donations can be made online at team Friendlies here.
Please contact Simone for general information and Sharon Ryan for specific Years 5/6 queries.
Further details will be shared with registered participants closer to the event.
TCE and IB Reasonable Adjustments
Reasonable adjustments applications for TCE and IB students are now underway. The cut off dates for applications are at the beginning of May but to support students it is very important that these are done early.
If your child is in Year 11 this year, and they have had a diagnosis, then we will be in contact shortly to discuss and arrange applications for adjustments.
If your child is new to the School, and has a diagnosis, or believes that they are requiring adjustments for exams and tests, please contact: Joe Cairns, Nicola Anderson, or Annabelle Black.
School-Based Immunisation Catch-Up Session
A message from Hobart City Council:
Council will be offering catch-up vaccination for students in Years 8, 9, 11, and 12 for vaccines they may have missed in previous years at The Friends’s School campus on Tuesday 3 March.
The Vitavo online consent platform is now be available for all school year levels, enabling streamlined consent collection for the following vaccines:
Please find the link to the consent platform here:
https://hobart.book.vitavo.com.au/school/TheFriendsSchool-DN9ui6
It remains strongly recommended that students continue to receive their scheduled adolescent vaccinations in Year 7 and Year 10. However, any students who have missed these vaccinations should complete them as soon as possible for optimal protection.
Immunisation staff will have real-time access to each student’s Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) record, allowing them to verify missed vaccinations prior to administration.
Please note:
Students in Years 10–12 who missed their Year 7 vaccinations will need to receive these at their GP, local pharmacy, or council immunisation clinic.
The online link is required to be completed online as soon as possible (the cut-off date was Wednesday 25 February).
Please contact Hobart City Council or go to immunisation@health.tas.gov.au if you require any information.
