Middle School

Meet the Key Teacher
An invitation has been extended to parents and guardians to attend the Middle School on Wednesday 4 March from 6.00pm–7.30pm for our Meet the Key Teacher Evening. Please note that no RSVP is required.
This evening provides an opportunity to learn more about key processes in the Middle School, specific aspects of the curriculum, pastoral care, homework expectations, daily routines, and how parents and guardians can best support students from home.
The event offers an opportunity to connect and speak with Key Teachers and other families. Upon arrival, families will be guided towards their child’s Key Classrooms, where individual presentations run by Key Teachers will take place.
We look forward to welcoming you.
Hobart Rivulet Excursion
Friday 6 March - Mott and Walker
Friday 13 March - Fry and Penn
Friday 20 March - Backhouse and Oats
To connect to our Science Ecology unit, students will spend some time on the Hobart Rivulet as part of the Connections program.
On their allocated day, staff and students will depart from School at 11.00am by bus and head to Strickland Falls. Students will sample the water and undertake environmental health checks through observations. The bus will transport staff and students to the Big Bend for Sample 2, and Cascade Gardens for Sample 3.
Cascade Gardens will be where we take our lunch break, then students and staff will walk along the Rivulet Track, undertaking one or two more samples, before meeting the bus at Molle Street and returning to School by 3.30pm.
Students should wear sports’ uniform, including sturdy sandshoes, and must bring a hat and a waterproof jacket. Students should bring any personal medications, and sunscreen. A change of shoes or gumboots is recommended, as students need to be in and around the water to get the best samples. Students will need recess snacks, lunch, and a drink bottle. As this trip is away from School in the field, please ensure that students have packed plenty to eat and drink (no lunch orders for second break).
