Updates from our Pastoral Groups (Units)
Our Foundation students have been busy becoming authors and illustrators as part of our Inquiry learning, “Tell Us Your Stories!”
Through this inquiry, our young learners have been exploring the wonderful ways stories can be shared, told and brought to life. From their own experiences and imaginations to the people, places and things that matter to them, the children have discovered that everyone has a story worth telling.
One of the highlights has been watching our Preps create their very own books! They have been drawing, writing, imagining and sharing their ideas, proudly bringing their stories to life one page at a time.
This learning has provided wonderful opportunities for the children to develop their oral language, creativity, early writing skills and confidence as storytellers. Most importantly, they are discovering the joy of being authors and illustrators, and the excitement of sharing something they have created with others.
We are so proud of our budding authors and the wonderful stories they have to tell!
This week, we also say a very special thank you to Breanna Makin from GOTAFE, who has been completing her placement in our Foundation learning space every Thursday.
Breanna, what a joy it has been having you as part of our learning community! It has been wonderful watching you grow in confidence, develop your skills and build such lovely connections with our children.
Thank you for the warmth, care and enthusiasm you have brought to our learning space each week. We hope your time with us has been as rewarding for you as it has been for us.
We wish you every success as you continue your journey in education. You will certainly be missed by our children and staff!

Grade 1/2 Mystery Day and Grade 2 Sleepover!
What an exciting adventure our Grade 1/2 students had during our St Mel’s Mystery Day! Our young detectives put their problem-solving, teamwork and investigative skills to the test as they completed mystery challenges, cracked secret codes, searched for hidden clues and worked together to solve the ultimate mystery!
After a fun-filled day of detective work, the excitement continued into the evening as our Grade 1 and 2 students enjoyed a delicious dinner, special treats and plenty of fun with their friends. Our Grade 1 students then headed home, while our Grade 2 students stayed for the extra special experience of sleeping overnight at school!
It was wonderful to see our student's demonstrating teamwork, courage, independence and resilience as they embraced new experiences, stepped outside their comfort zones and supported one another.
We are so proud of all our little detectives! A huge thank you to our wonderful staff who helped make this such a memorable experience for everyone!

A huge congratulations to Jude Briskie (Year 5), who was selected as a Young Archie Shepparton finalist for his incredible artwork!
Being recognised as a finalist is a wonderful achievement and a celebration of Jude's creativity, artistic talent and the care he has put into his work.
We are incredibly proud of you, Jude. Congratulations on this fantastic achievement!

Come for breaky… second breakfast… or even third breakfast — all are welcome!
Our new Foundation students enjoyed trying out Breakfast Club for the first time and it’s safe to say they absolutely loved it! There were smiles, full tummies and a wonderful sense of community to start the day.
Breakfast Club is a beautiful way to gather, connect and ensure everyone begins the morning feeling nourished and ready to learn.
We look forward to welcoming more students as we continue to grow this special initiative.
