Student Engagement at Corpus Christi 2026

From the Year 3/4 Community

Throughout Term 2, the Year 3/4 Community has been focusing on respect and understanding that we are all unique, including our cultural backgrounds. Students have been learning how to recognise and celebrate diversity, and how to create a school community where everyone feels included and valued.

As part of this, students explored the Acknowledgement of Country and Indigenous perspectives. They discussed ways we can show respect and take positive actions to be inclusive of others.

In particular, we focused on two important events this week: National Sorry Day (26 May) and National Reconciliation Week (27 May – 3 June). Students learnt about the meaning and importance of these days, including reading The Stolen Girl by Trina Saffioti to help build their understanding of the Stolen Generation.

Students then shared their ideas and understanding by creating “Sorry Sun” artworks, representing reflection, hope and the importance of moving forward together. We are very proud of the care and thought students have shown during this learning. Be sure to check out their wonderful artwork below!

Positive Behaviour for Learning

The weekly PBL rule is drawn from our Behaviour Matrix. Each week our children focus on a whole school rule that meets our five school expectations.

            This week’s PBL focus is:

           We are LEARNERS (Playtime)

We are learning to agree on rules, follow them, and solve problems together.
