Prep News

Term 2 has been a very busy and exciting term for Prep! In Week 7, we were fortunate enough to visit Melbourne Museum and enjoy a movie at IMAX. During our excursion, we learned about different animals and the adaptations that help them survive in their environments. We also explored different periods in history and discovered how homes, lifestyles and everyday objects have changed over time. The Preps were convinced there was a television in a house from the 1800s—just to clarify, there definitely was not!

As if that wasn't enough excitement for one term, we also welcomed a very special visit from the Royal Flying Doctor Service last week. The Preps were fascinated to learn about life in remote parts of Australia, including how some children live more than two hours from the nearest shops. They were curious to discover how the RFDS supports people living in isolated communities and provides vital medical care across the country.

The highlight of the visit was exploring an RFDS aircraft. The Preps had the opportunity to use medical equipment, try on special communication headsets and even have a turn "flying" the plane!
